South African students at JINR

The first stage of the International Student Practice in JINR Fields of Research for students from the Republic of South Africa started on 29 May 2017.

Students from South Africa have participated in the Practice since 2007. Over the last 13 years, more than a thousand representatives of JINR Member States and Associated Member States have participated in the International Student Practice, the number of South African students having come up to 288.

This year, Stage 1 started in the JINR Visit Centre with an introductory lecture on JINR delivered by D. Kamanin and an introductory lecture on the JINR educational programmes given by S. Pakuliak. Traditionally the programme includes visits to the JINR basic facilities, whereas most of the time is devoted to performing research projects. The social part this year will feature excursion trips to Tver and Moscow, as well as an International Morning in the Visit Centre. The final day, 16 June, will be dedicated to projects presentations by the students.
