July 26, in Brasov, Romania, started the The 8th International Student Summer School “Nuclear Physics – Science and Applications” (NUCPHYS-SC&APPL).
On the first day of the school the participants were greeted by the protector of Transylvanian University of Brasov, Liliana Rogozea and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Marius Moga. Welcoming and introductory lectures were given by the Plenipotentiary Representative of Romania at JINR, Florian Buzatu, and vice-director of JINR, Richard Lednicky. The programme of the first day also included lectures by F. Negoita, D. Prunariu, V. Shvetsov, and G. Stratan.The School has been held for the 6th time. This year, over 70 students from 10 countries (Armenia, Cuba, Czech Republic, Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, and Ukraine) have taken part in the event.
