As part of the XIX World Festival of Youth and Students, which is being held in Sochi, October 15 – 22, 2017, the exhibition site of the Ministry of Education and Science “Megascience: Russia in the World – Russia for the World” is open.

The festival is aimed at the consolidation of the international youth movement by promoting and strengthening international relationships and developing cross-national and cross-cultural collaboration. A key concern of the Festival is addressing the issues of the most pressing challenges facing the young generation by discussions, cultural programme, sport competitions and open communication.

Within the framework of the Festival the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation presents a number of exhibition and discussion sites, such as the “Megascience: Russia in the World – Russia for the World” projects exposition, where leading European and Russian research centers and projects are presented in an exciting and youth friendly form, and where Russia’s role in these international projects is explained. The exposition of the Ministry of Education and Science offers lectures by eminent Russian and foreign scientists, robotics competitions for youngsters, VR-films, 3D models of scientific centers, and video presentations. Each guest has the opportunity to learn more about the structure, goals and achievements of any project using interactive technologies as well as the opportunity to consult about the prospects of work within each scientific project.

JINR participates actively in the exposition “Megascience: Russia in the World – Russia for the World”, where the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research presents its megascience flagship project – the accelerator complex NICA. Young JINR staff members, represented by Pavel Batyuk (VBLHEP), Boyana Dabrovska (VBLHEP), Nikita Sidorov (VBLHEP), Krystian Roslon (VBLHEP) and Yulia Rybachuk (UC) personify the Institute’s slogan by uniting Poland, Bulgaria and Russia in their international team. In addition to the NICA project, JINR also presents its educational programmes and opportunities for undergraduate and postgraduate students.

By organising the exposition “Megascience: Russia in the World – Russia for the World”, The Ministry of Education and Science of Russia aims at demonstrating the scientific and technological level of Russia, sharing frontier scientific experience, reaching out to foreign participants of the Festival to demonstrate the achievements of Russian science.
