November 1, 2017, the Interregional Computer School (MSC) together with the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) held the 1st selection round of regional competitions on the basics of construction and robotics "Technical HACATHON – Racing along the Line" at the D.I. Blokhintsev library of JINR.
The partners of the program were the Center for Information Technologies and Analytics "Remote electronic laboratory" CITADEL, Yakhroma, and the travel agency "Ya_Dubna".
The main goal of the event is to identify and support children who are inclined to technical creativity.
9 teams took part in the competition. With a total of 33 participants, there were
6-9 grade students from Dubna (supplementary education centre PRIMER) and Moscow School of Physics and Mathematics No. 2007.
All participants are just making first steps on their path to technical robotics. Tutors of the supplementary education centre PRIMER gave a workshop on the basics of robotics based on Arduino. The participants created and tested experimental models of an autonomous device capable of moving along a closed line. A car made by a team from Moscow, which consisted Kravchenko Sophia and Volchenko Ksenia, showed the best time on the original track. The prototype of the race car named "Lightning", which they assembled, covered the ten-meter track in 40 seconds. As a result of the qualifying competitions in Dubna, the winner team from Moscow school №2007, got their golden ticket into the finals, which will take place in May 2018.
The organising committee expresses gratitude to the Blokhintsev library of JINR for assistance.
