On 23 November, 2018, the Kazan Federal University (KFU) welcomed the representatives of JINR.
At the seminar, the leading specialists of the Institute introduced KFU students to the history of JINR, told them about the main fields of scientific research conducted in its laboratories, as well as about the basic facilities and flagship projects of the Institute.
Since last year, undergraduates of the Institute of Physics of KFU have had an opportunity to work at the JINR facilities. In 2017, Rector of KFU I.R. Gafurov and JINR Director General V.A. Matveev signed an agreement on the establishment of a joint Department of Nuclear Material Science at KFU in order to train potential staff members and conduct joint scientific research in the field of fundamental, applied and engineering science. The Head of the Department, which has existed since 1 September, 2017, is the Head of the Division of Condensed Matter Research and Development of JINR FLNP, Professor A.V. Belushkin.
