DLNP design engineers continue learning English

On 05 October 2021, the JINR DLNP Design Department staff-members resumed their English language studies after a summer break.

As to the end of the last academic year, the engineers have demonstrated significant progress in their English studies: successful defense of the technical design stage of the assembly tooling for the SFGD detector (T2K collaboration); release of a complete set of the instruction manuals for technological procedures and its consequent approval by the safety committee at J-PARC. In addition, a business trip of one of the department employees to CERN aimed at carrying out design works on the ATLAS detector modernisation proved the adequacy of the chosen course programme.
The course programme was developed in accordance with the request of the department related to the active participation of its team members in international projects, and namely, in the ATLAS experiments, T2K, possible future HyperKamiokande, and other projects requiring participation of qualified design engineers. The programme focuses on the ability to adequately respond in the situations of everyday life, as well as on grammar and translation. The studies of technical terminology will also be continued. The classes are held twice a week.
