On 20 January 2022, the first lecture in a series of joint events of the Kamchatka State University named after Vitus Bering and JINR took place online. Nikolai Anfimov, Head of the Sector for Methodological Research, Laboratory of Nuclear Problems named after V.P. Dzhelepov, gave a lecture to high school students, physics teachers, and students of KamSU.
At the very beginning of the meeting, the participants were shown a film about the history of JINR. Afterwards, Nikolay made a presentation «Energy of Science», in which he spoke about the flagship projects being implemented at JINR. In his speech, he also touched upon the topics of applied and theoretical research, processing of experimental data. At the end of the meeting, Nikolai answered the questions of the audience about the neutrino telescope in Lake Baikal, registration of neutrinos near nuclear power plants, and recommended literature for those who are fond of physics.
The positive attitude at the meeting produced a favourable impression on its participants.
