On 18 February, 2020, students of the Tambov State Technical University who are on modular training at Dubna State University under the student exchange programme visited the Veksler and Baldin Laboratory of High Energy Physics.
The VBLHEP engineer Olga Kazinova introduced the guests to the production site of the Superconducting Magnets Factory, which produces magnets for the two scientific partner projects – NICA and FAIR.
The senior VBLHEP engineer Ilya Shirikov gave a tour of the NICA injector, talked about the arrangement principles of the LU-20 accelerator, the HILAC heavy ion accelerator, and the HILAC-BOOSTER transport channel. He introduced the guests to the objectives of the injection complex and the role of engineers in the NICA collider.
