On 10-11 April 2023, JINR specialists visited the Institute of Physics of the Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University. The delegation included: A.V. Belushkin, A.Yu. Verkheev, D.M. Chudoba, L.D. Kolupaeva, and Yu.E. Gorshkov.
In addition to the traditional annual meetings with students and discussion of curricula at the meeting of the JINR-based department "Nuclear Physical Materials Science" at KFU, JINR experts delivered lectures. JINR UC Director Alexander Verkheev gave an overview lecture “JINR and Opportunities for Students”. He spoke about the basic facilities and main projects of the Institute and encouraged KFU students to participate in schools, conferences, and specialised programmes for young scientists run by JINR University Centre.
Great interest of the specialists and students of the KFU Institute of Physics was aroused during a seminar on neutrino physics by the researcher at the Laboratory of Nuclear Problems Lyudmila Kolupaeva. The speaker presented an overview of the experiments in which JINR takes part.
During the visit, Alexander Verkheev and Lyudmila Kolupaeva met with representatives of the Association of Young Scientists of KFU and discussed potential joint programmes for the young scientists of both organisations. As a result of the meeting, a protocol on the cooperation between the JINR AYSS and the KPFU AYS is being drawn up.
