From 2nd to 6th December 2024, the first Scientific school for teachers from the Republic of Belarus was held at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research. Sixteen teachers of physics in engineering classes familiarised themselves with the Institute’s research and facilities, gaining new knowledge applicable in their lessons.

From March 29 to April 13, 2022, with the assistance of the JINR University Centre specialists, the Pacific Online Marathon "Big Science Firsthand" is being held for students studying physics, chemistry, biology and mathematics at the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU).

On 23 November, 2018, the Kazan Federal University (KFU) welcomed the representatives of JINR.

From 6 to 22 November, 2024, JINR University Centre hosted the International Student Practice for 18 students from Egyptian universities. On 22 November, they presented the results of their work on 10 projects covering various areas of physics and information technologies. For some students, the field of research was entirely new.

On 23-25 March 2022, JINR staff members Semion Gurskiy and Elena Badawy took part in the “English Language Week” held at the Kadyshevsky Lyceum. Students of 7-10 grades listened to the lectures delivered in English, which were dedicated to the history of the Joint Institute and the development of nuclear research in our country, as well as to the treatment of cancer by proton therapy.

The JINR University Centre organizes two-day programmes for schools students from other cities that allow them to learn more about the Institute, the city and opportunities available for the youth here. On 29 and 30 October 2018, 16 school students and their 3 teachers from Vologda came to JINR.

From 18 to 22 November, 2024, JINR University Centre hosted an International Scientific School for high school students. Ten students from grades 10 and 11 from Dubna and Astana (Kazakhstan) participated.

On 24 March 2022, an online tour of the Flerov Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions was organised for the JINR Infocentre at the Kamchatka State University named after Vitus Bering (KamSU). FLNR senior researcher Vratislav Chudoba introduced the audience to the studies of the exotic nuclei properties, which are conducted at the Acculina-2 fragment-separator–U-400M heavy ion accelerator complex.

Yesterday, on 4 November, the eleventh scientific School for physics teachers from JINR Member States, organized jointly by the Joint Institute and the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), was started.

From 28 October to 1 November, 2024, a Scientific School for Physics Teachers was held at JINR, which was attended by six educators from Rosatom cities.

On 25-27 March 2022, visits to the interactive exhibition "JINR Basic Facilities" located in the Culture Centre "Mir" were organised for Dubna residents. The events were dedicated to the 66th anniversary of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research. In such a way the Institute invited everyone to get to know its history and celebrate its holiday with the city. Within three days, about 300 visitors attended the exhibition.

On Friday, 26 October 2018, the XXVI International Space Olympiad for school students was finished in the science city Korolyov. This year, the Olympiad was dedicated to the 20th anniversary of launch of the Russian module “Zarya”, the first module of the International Space Station, and to the 80th anniversary of the science city Korolyov.

The Third stage of the International Student Practice at JINR for students from Egypt started on 6 November 2024. This time, 18 students from various Egyptian universities are immersing themselves in science under the guidance of 10 researchers from five JINR laboratories: DLNP, FLNR, MLIT, FLNP and VBLHEP.

On 17 March, 2022, another video conference with Dubna was held for the JINR Info Centre at the Kamchatka State University named after Vitus Bering (KamSU). Scientific Secretary of the Flerov Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions Alexander Karpov gave a lecture "Searching for the Limits of the Periodic Table". The event was held as part of the University Centre Lectorium.

More than 1000 guests visited the Dubna site of the Nauka 0+ Festival “Hitchhiking around the Galaxy” on 20 October 2018 organized by the University “Dubna” that became a regional site of the famous All-Russian Scientific Festival for the first time.

From September 9 to September 27, 2024, the International Practice took place at JINR University Centre, with 37 students from South Africa, Mexico, Serbia, Vietnam, Armenia, Kazakhstan, and Belarus participating. For three weeks, students worked on projects under the guidance of JINR scientists.

On 02 March, 2022, an online lecture was organised for 8-9 grade students from school No. 51 in Tver. The event was held as part of the JINR UC Lectorium. Researcher of the Laboratory of Information Technologies Igor Pelevanyuk gave a lecture "LIT: Past and Present".

 On 24 September and 09 October 2018, high-school students of Dubna Lyceum No.6 visited the JINR Laboratory of Information Technologies and the Laboratory of Radiation Biology.

JINR University Centre announces the acceptance of applications for participation in Wave 11 of the INTEREST programme, which will be held from 05 November to 15 December, 2024. Please apply for participation till October 25, 2024. 

On 24 February, 2022, an online popular-science event was held on the basis of the JINR Info Centre at KamSU. Participants were FLNP staff members Natalya Glombotskaya and Valery Lobachev and high-school students from the local schools. The meeting was organised by the JINR University Centre.

On 30 September, 2018, staff members of JINR VBLHEP Dmitry Dryablov and Dmitry Klimansky volunteered at the Charity Festival "From Heart to Heart" held in Kolomenskoye Park in Moscow.

On September 18, 2024, a bright and memorable event took place at the University Centre at JINR – International Day, bringing together representatives of 15 countries: Armenia, Belarus, Bolivia, Vietnam, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Cuba, Mexico, Russia, Serbia, Sudan, Uzbekistan, Montenegro, South Africa.

Within the framework of the 65th anniversary of JINR and the Year of Science and Technology in Russia, the University Centre ran the Marathon “JINR visiting Dubna schools”. This large-scale popular-science event lasted from April till December 2021 and involved 14 city schools.

On 08-09 September 2018, the Petrozavodsk State University (PetrSU) hosted a two-day school preceding the IX International Symposium on Exotic Nuclei (EXON-2018) held in the capital of Karelia on 10-15 September.

On 10-14 September, 2024, the 4th Science School for Students of the Children’s University of the Egyptian Academy of Scientific Research and Technology was held at JINR. Throughout the week, the schoolchildren explored the laboratories the Institute, and also had hands-on physics practicums at the JINR University Centre.

In February 2022, the traditional, third in a row, lecture session of the Joint Institute for Nu-clear Research scientists for the «Virtual Science Camp» was held. Nikolai Anfimov gave a lecture «What is JINR?» to students from 10 countries.

On 22 September 2018, in Dubna School No. 9 the mentors of the Physics and Mathematics Open Classroom of the JINR University Centre ran the jubilee XXV Open Physics and Mathematics Olympiad for Dubna school students of 6-8 grades.

The START (STudent Advanced Research Training) programme invites students and postgraduates to join the research conducted at JINR and supervised by the leading scientists and engineers. Applications for the Winter Session 2025 are accepted at start.jinr.ru until October 31.

Winners of the first joint project "Lessons of real nuclear physics" of the Educational Center "Sirius" and JINR have been announced. The participants assembled a model of a cloud chamber and independently identified the tracks of charged particles, made photo and video reports on the performed work.

On 8-12 July, 2024, the XIII Scientific School for Physics Teachers was held at JINR. 24 teachers participated in the event, representing various regions of the Russian Federation, including Samara, Saratov, Orenburg, Arkhangelsk, Irkutsk, Kaluga, Novosibirsk, Ulyanovsk regions, Yamal, Crimea, Udmurtia, Bashkortostan, Saint Petersburg, and Stavropol.

On 24 January – 04 February, 2022, the annual RSA-JINR Summer School for undergraduate and postgraduate students of various RSA universities was hosted by the iThemba Labs research centre. This year the School was held in the video conference format.

On 21 June, finished the first stage of the International Student Practice organised by JINR UC. In less than three weeks, undergraduate and graduate students of South African universities explored the basic facilities of the Institute and discovered what research opportunities they are used for, attended the interactive exhibition iт  Mir Culture House, visited laboratories of the Institute and also completed their research projects under the guidance of JINR specialists.

On 20 January 2022, the first lecture in a series of joint events of the Kamchatka State University named after Vitus Bering and JINR took place online. Nikolai Anfimov, Head of the Sector for Methodological Research, Laboratory of Nuclear Problems named after V.P. Dzhelepov, gave a lecture to high school students, physics teachers, and students of KamSU.

On 5–17 July, the 36th International Computer School for school students is held at the JINR recreation center “Ratmino”, organised by the JINR University Center. This year, a special feature of the ICS was the educational and methodological workshop on project-based education “Modeling and Education”, which took place on 1-4 July preceding the School.

On 24 December 2021, the solemn opening of the exhibition of works by the winners of the international competition «JINR in drawings of children and adults» dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the Institute took place in the Culture Centre "Mir". 150 people from Kazakhstan, Poland, Russia, Romania, and the Czech Republic participated in the contest.

A festive opening of the jubilee 30th Interregional Computer School named after V. Volokitin and E. Shirkova organized with the support of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research was held on 4 August 2018 in the JINR Resort Hotel “Ratmino”.

From June 24 to 26, 2024, Joint Institute for Nuclear Research hosted a three-day intensive scientific and engineering school, which was attended by high school students from Tomsk.

On 14 December 2021, within the framework of cooperation agreement between RUDN and JINR, first-year RUDN University students majoring in Mathematics and Computer Science visited Dubna.

In 2018, the UC Summer Student Programme is held at JINR for the fifth time. It welcomed its participants for the first time in 2014 when eight students came to the Joint Institute.

On April 13, 2024, the 13th CyberDubna open regional robotics tournament was held on the basis of the Lyceum named after V.G. Kadyshevsky. 14 teams from Dolgoprudny, Dmitrov, Dubna, Protvino, St. Petersburg and  Zaprudnya took part in the tournament. The organiser was JINR University Centre.

On 18 October, Dubna Lyceum №6 hosted a JINR Day as part of the marathon ‘JINR is visiting schools in Dubna’.
JINR scientists spent the whole school day talking to the Lyceum students, performed scientific chemical and physical experiments, talked about recent achievements in the field of radiobiology and astrophysics, gave a career guidance talk.

From March 25 to 29, 2024, a scientific school for physics teachers was held at JINR. The participants were 23 teachers from Irkutsk, Saratov and Voronezh regions. The teachers' visit was supported by JINR information centres in Irkutsk and Tomsk.

On 13 October 2021, the staff-members of the JINR University Centre organised a visit of 12-13 grade students studying at the non-state educational private institution "British International School" under the national A-Level programme and specialising in natural sciences. The school students got acquainted with the Institute and attended the interactive exhibition "JINR basic facilities" and the  Dzhelepov Laboratory of Nuclear Problems.

Applications for participation in the JINR Postdoctoral Programme are accepted from 1 to 31 March 2024. The JINR Postdoctoral Programme is aimed at young scientists specialising in theoretical and experimental particle physics, nuclear physics, relativistic heavy ion physics, condensed matter physics, and radiobiology. 

On 05 October 2021, the JINR DLNP Design Department staff-members resumed their English language studies after a summer break.

16th traditional visit of students from John F. Kennedy School from Berlin took place on 12-13 June, 2018.

On 24-25 February, 2024, the seventh technical hackathon took place. The event was attended by 38 school and college students from the cities of Serpukhov, Dmitrov, Dubna and the village of Zaprudnya. 15 coaches and 5 volunteers helped the participants.

On 27 September 2021, Wave 5 of the INTEREST online student programme was launched, thus opening the second year of its work. 181 people from 28 countries were selected and participated in the first five Waves. Among them, there are undergraduate and PhD students from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Botswana, Brazil, Bulgaria, Cuba, China, Czech Republic, Egypt, France, Greece, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Mongolia, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, South Africa, Spain, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom, Uzbekistan.

We invite physics teachers to participate in the International Scientific School which will be held from July 7 to July 13, 2024 at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, Dubna. The working language is Russian.

In June 2021, G.V. Trubnikov and Yu.Ts. Oganessian visited the Educational Center "Sirius", Sochi. During the meetings of the JINR leaders with the students of the Center, a number of children expressed their willingness to visit the Institute. On 23-25 September 2021, a delegation of Sirius students and their supervisors visited JINR.

On 21 May 2018, a group of high-school students from school No. 5 of Torzhok visited JINR.

JINR University Centre announces the acceptance of applications for participation in Wave 10 of the INTEREST programme, which will be held from 26 February to 14 April, 2024. Please apply for participation till February 16, 2024. 

On 14 September 2021, during the ceremony of the JINR Information Centre opening, which was held at the headquarters of the Egyptian Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, the JINR UC Social Communications Group presented a video tour of the JINR LRB Radiation Physiology Sector. The guests were given an opportunity to ask questions to the LRB researchers online.

On 16 May 2018, representatives of JINR and the Dubna State University, namely FLNR Scientific Leader Academician Yu.Ts. Oganessian, Head of the FLNR Sector Professor Yu.E. Penionzhkevich, Director of the JINR University Centre S.Z. Pakuliak and Rector of the Dubna State University D.V. Fursaev, visited the NRNU MEPhI.

From 16 to 20 November 2023, the Autumn School on the physics of quark-gluon matter was held at JINR. The event was attended by 30 students from universities in Moscow, Tomsk, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, and Voronezh.

At the forthcoming TECHNOSREDA festival, the largest scientific and technological companies in Russia will present their latest developments to the general public. The Festival will become a catalyst for all high-tech processes and will bring together representatives of the scientific community on a single platform.

We inform you that there is now a possibility to enroll a new joint network educational master programme provided by MEPhI together with JINR.

On 31 October, 2023, a group of participants of the Scientific school “Path to the Stars” visited JINR. 12 Moscow physics teachers came to Dubna. The event was organised by the Institute of Cosmophysics of the NRNU MEPhI and the Faculty of Advanced Professional Development and Retraining of Personnel with support of the Roscosmos State Corporation and JINR.

On 15-16 September, the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research hosted the fourth workshop project "Museum Connections" on the topic: "Mediation: the practice of interaction with the visitor, scientific communication". The project was organised by the Development Fund of the Polytechnic Museum in cooperation with the Polytechnic Museum and with the support of JINR. The staff-members of the JINR University Centre joined the organising committee of the event.

On Saturday, 19 May 2018, the Physics and Mathematics Open Classroom of the JINR University Centre will hold XXIV Open Physics and Mathematics Olympiad among schoolchildren of 6-7th grades.

In September 2023, the journal “Nanomaterials” published an article prepared by the Egyptian students who participated in the JINR International Student Practice under the supervision of the researchers of the Neutron Activation Analysis and Applied Research Sector at the Frank Laboratory of Neutron Physics.

On 25 April, within the frames of the project “Friendship Bridges” which unites students from the twin-cities, high-school students from Nova Gorica (Slovenia) visited JINR.

On 6-8 October 2023, the NAUKA 0+ science festival was held in Moscow. Traditionally, JINR specialists took part in the event. The exhibition stands of the Institute were located at two sites: the Expocentre and the Fundamental Library of Moscow State University.

1st September marks the beginning of a new school year. On this day, the UC Lectorium "S’COOL Science" resumed its lectures for school students of Dubna.

For the third time, JINR has taken part in the GEEK PICNIC science and technology festival. Every summer, the organisers gather experts from all over the world – scientists, engineers, artists – trying to get a glimpse of the world’s future. On 21-22 August, for the first time, the science festival was held on a motor ship.

On 25-29 September, 2023, the third Science School for Students of the Children’s University of the Egyptian Academy of Scientific Research and Technology was held at JINR. 

On 13 August 2021, over two hundred children aged 14-19 – winners of Olympiads and competitions from different countries of the world and participants of the project “Hello, Russia!” – visited Dubna.

On 18 April, students of the Physics and Mathematics Open Classroom visited the Laboratory of Information Technologies of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research.

On 16-20 November, 2023, a workshop on the physics of quark-gluon matter will be held at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research as part of the preparation for experiments at the NICA accelerator complex. You can apply for participation up to 26 October.

JINR staff members delivered lectures online for Russian school students as part of the Bolshaya Peremena (lit. “Big Change/Big School Break”) project, thus having opened a thematic week dedicated to nuclear technologies.

17 high-school students accompanied by teachers from the HEMDA – Center for Science Education, Tel Aviv, Israel, arrived with a three-day visit at JINR.

On 28-30 August, 2023, the JINR delegation took part in the 8th Academic Conference on Natural Science for Young Scientists, Master and PhD Students from ASEAN countries (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) in Vinh, Vietnam.

On 17 June, scientists from the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research will give lectures on physics in the Educational Centre “Sirius”.
In the Year of Science and Technology, JINR scientists will tell the students of the Educational Centre “Sirius” about their work. Direct contact with successful representatives of the scientific community is a way to spark children’s interest in the profession of a scientist.

Following the fine tradition, the spring school holidays in Dubna were finished by the scientific festival “Days of Physics”.

On 15 July, 2023, the 35th International Computer School attended by 46 students from the Moscow Region, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Primorsky and Krasnodar Krai came to its end at the JINR resort “Ratmino”.

An interactive exposition "JINR Main Facilities" made by the staff-members of the Institute and the «Intergraphics» company has been opened in the JINR Cultural Centre «Mir» and for now is working in a test mode. The exhibition was timed to coincide with the 65th anniversary of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research: it presents the main scientific projects and research areas of the Institute, as well as the most significant stages of its history.

On 27 March, 2018, the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research welcomed the final-year class of the Alexandre Dumas French School of Moscow.

During summer, the JINR University Centre continues to do popular science demonstrations for a wide audience. The goal is to popularize scientific knowledge and spark interest in exploring the surrounding world.

At the career forums by MIPT and MEPhI, students were told about the competencies and skills currently in demand at JINR.

On 12 March, 2018, a group of pupils from Moscow School № 1517 arrived at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, where they visited the JINR Museum, and the Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions.

From 3 to 7 July 2023, the 12th International Scientific School for Physics Teachers was held at JINR. Twenty teachers from eighteen regions of Russia and one teacher from Armenia became its participants.

Wave 1 of the INTEREST programme is coming to its end. The students finish their work on the projects under the supervision of JINR staff members and start preparing their final reports.

On 10 February 2018, JINR Library n.a. D.I. Blokhintsev hosted an international educational event "Open Lab", which gathered more than 70 participants of different age and social status.

On 07-23 June, 2023, Stage 2 of the International Student Practice by the JINR University Centre was held at the Institute. 28 young scientists came from the South African Republic to participate in the programme.

On 05 October 2020, Wave 1 of the INTEREST programme was officially started. It is being attended by 24 participants from Cuba, Czech Republic, Egypt, France, India, Poland, Romania, Russia, and Uzbekistan.

During three days, from 27 February to 1 March 2018, students of the Japanese university of Kindai, Osaka, got acquainted with the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research.

On 09 June, 2023, MIPT hosted a Career Day, where students had an opportunity to meet with young scientists from JINR and with MIPT graduates. The discussion focused on career prospects for young employees working in the field of nuclear physics, particle physics, condensed matter physics, theoretical physics, and radiobiology.

On 07 September 2020, the JINR University Centre launched a specific purpose English course for the staff members of the Design Engineering Department of DLNP. The programme of the course was developed in accordance with the request of the Department connected with their participation in the international collaborations at JINR and CERN.

On 16 May, Stage 1 of the International Student Practice organised by the JINR University Centre started at JINR. 22 trainees – students and young scientists from universities and research centres of the Arab Republic of Egypt – came to Dubna for three weeks. During the first week of the Practice, they listened to lectures on the research conducted at JINR and the main facilities of the Institute, visited VBLHEP, FLNR, FLNP, DLNP, and MLIT. In addition, they learned more about the history of Russia and went sightseeing in Moscow.

In September 2020, the JINR University Centre will launch a new programme for students from all over the world. It is called INTEREST, an abbreviation of the English “INTErnational REmote Student Training”. The Programme will allow students to get acquainted with activities of the Institute and conduct research projects remotely, without leaving home.

On 02 February, 2018, a group of Mongolian students, studying at National Research Nuclear University MEPhI visited JINR. The guests were welcomed in the Frank Laboratory of Neutron Physics, the Laboratory of Information Technologies, and in JINR Museum of History of Science and Technology.

The 20th anniversary of Dubna’s Interschool Physics and Mathematics Open Classroom was celebrated with a traditional, already 33rd, Open Olympiad for students in grades 6-7 organised and run by A.A.  Leonovich and V.V. Sadilov. More than 50 schoolchildren representing 9 educational institutions of Dubna, as well as the Dmitrov Gymnasium "Logos", participated in the event.

On 27 June and 06-08 August 2020, for the first time in history, the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research took part in the virtual Festival of Science and Technology GEEK PICNIC. The event was held for the 10th time, but this year – in a completely new format.

On 31 January, 2018, participants of MIPT physics and mathematics school “Absolute Future” had a visit to the JINR Laboratory of High Energy Physics.

On 22-23 April, 2023, the Kadyshevsky Lyceum became the venue for the Open Robotics Tournament CyberDubna-2023 organised by the JINR University Centre. The Tournament was a team competition based on the Arduino platform.

On 6 — 8 August 2020, JINR will participate in the second stage of the International Geek Picnic Online Festival dedicated to science and advanced technology. The enhanced universe of Geek Picnic Online 2.0 with new stages welcomes its visitors 6.00 pm to 10.00 pm. JINR will participate in this festival as a partner having new speakers and activities.

On 25 January 2018, JINR staff members with the support of the JINR University Centre visited Tver once again to deliver lectures for school students, their teachers and students of the Tver State University in the frames of the lecture course “Mathematics and computer sciences”.

On 15 July 2020, Vice-Rector and Acting Director of Landau Phystech School of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) A. A. Voronov visited JINR.

On 26 January 2018, a group of students from Moscow School No. 825 arrived at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, where they visited the Museum of History of Science and Technology, the Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions, and the University Centre. This is the third annual visit of the School to JINR.

On 10-11 April 2023, JINR specialists visited the Institute of Physics of the Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University. The delegation included: A.V. Belushkin, A.Yu. Verkheev, D.M. Chudoba, L.D. Kolupaeva, and Yu.E. Gorshkov.

On 8 July 2020, staff members of the Flerov Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions and the JINR University Centre held an online meeting with 125 students of the Governor’s School for the Sciences and Engineering (GSSE) of the University of Tennessee (UT), Knoxville, USA. The virtual guests had a video excursion to the FLNR experimental facilities.

On January 22, 2018 a group of students from Horoshevskaya School arrived at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, where they visited the JINR Museum, and the Laboratory of High Energy Physics. 

On 03-07 April, 2023, the Scientific School for Physics Teachers from Kamchatka was held at JINR. 14 teachers came to Dubna from different districts of this region. The visit was organised with the support of the JINR Information Centre at Kamchatka State University named after V. Bering. The participants learnt about the Joint Institute's research and visited several laboratories.

The V Summer School “Physics. Mathematics. IT” is coming. It will take place from 25 to 30 July 2020. The Joint Institute for Nuclear Research and the State University “Dubna” annually welcome about 100 high-school students and offer them an extensive popular science programme and project activities.

On 08-10 December, the Vth International Olympiad in Experimental Physics was held in Sofia, Bulgaria. The event brought together high school students from Bulgaria, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Macedonia, Poland, Russia, and other countries. Students from Dubna also took part in the contest.

On 07 April, 2023, JINR took part in the event “Career Booster”, which was held at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology in Dolgoprudny. This traditional event is an excellent platform for positive and efficient communication between potential employers and students.

28 students completed the first academic year at the Dubna Yandex.Lyceum. Dubna joined the Yandex.Lyceum project in 2019. The start of the programme was preceded by the joint work of Yandex, the Physics and Mathematics Open Classroom of Dubna, Lyceum No.6 and the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research.

On 30 November, 2017, a traditional visit of high-school students of the University Lyceum No. 1511 of the Pre-university of NRNU MEPhI to JINR was held.

On 30 March, 2023, the new building of the JINR University Centre became the venue for the joint JINR-MIPT School of Quark-Gluon Matter Physics. Within five days, students got a general idea of the Joint Institute and its main projects, listened to lectures and visited some of the JINR laboratories.

On 23 April 2020, a staff member of VBLHEP Nikita Sidorov faced a very special online audience to deliver his lecture named “What are colliders?” This fascinating talk was intended for the members of the Virtual Science Camps organised by a Physics teacher in Paris, Michael Gregory.

On 27 November, twenty-eight 8-year students focused on the study of physics and mathematics and 4 teachers of School № 1514, Moscow, visited the Institute.

On 25 March, 2023, an opening ceremony of the new building of the JINR University Centre at 4A, Vavilov st. took place. The new building will host the Engineering and Physics Training for university students, as well as robotics and 3D printing classes for school students. It will also become a new home for the JINR UC Social Communications Group and the Physics Lab for schoolchildren.

On 22 November 2017 JINR scientists supported by the JINR University Centre and the JINR Visit Centre had a meeting with students of Tver schools №8 and 51.

16 teams from the Moscow region took part in the competition in designing and programming robots. Participants in the qualifying stage, which took place in the Kadyshevsky Lyceum, were 45 children, mostly school students in grades 7-10 from Dolgoprudny, Dubna, Zaprudnya, Korolev, Moscow, Orudyevo, Protvino, Taldom.

On 19 February, 2020, high school students of the Tarasovka Gymnasium from the city of Pushkino visited the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research. The guests took a walk around the Institute part of Dubna, visited the Museum of the JINR History of Science and Technology, as well as the Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions.

On 15 November, 14 students of School No. 2116 and 13 students of the University Lyceum No. 1523 of the Pre-university NRNU MEPHI, Moscow, visited JINR. The pre-university of NNIU MEPhI, Moscow. The main goal of the visit was to introduce the guests to the main activities of the Institute.

The Faculty of Physics of Moscow State University holds a traditional competition of scientific projects – the «Lomonosov» Universiade in theoretical and applied physics. Winners of the competition will become eligible to enter the Master's course at Moscow State University on a preferential basis. Applications are accepted until 31 March, 2023 at https://universiade.msu.ru/rus/event/7866/

On 14 — 16 February 2020, the Blokhintsev Universal Public Library of JINR hosted the 9th open robotic tournament CyberDubna-2020 of the Upper-Volga Educational Cyber Network.

In the framework of school career days and with a purpose to encourage school graduates to choose science specialties, visits to the JINR Laboratory of High Energy Physics and the Laboratory of Information Technologies were organised for high school students from Dubna.

On 08 February 2023, JINR scientists took part in the events organised by the Physics and Mathematics Lyceum named after Academician V.G. Kadyshevsky as part of the Day of Russian Science.

On 12 February, 2020, students of the German school named after F.P. Haas (Moscow) accompanied by their teachers visited the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research. Excursion to the Laboratory of nuclear reactions was organised for the guests.

On November 14, twenty eight 1-year students of the Faculty of General and Applied Physics, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (FGAP, MIPT), visited JINR.

The START (STudent Advanced Research Training) programme invites students and postgraduates to join the research conducted at JINR and supervised by the leading scientists and engineers. Applications for the Summer Session 2023 are accepted at start.jinr.ru until March 20.

On 09-30 January, iThemba LABS, RSA, hosted the 2nd JINR-RSA School, the SAINTS@tlabs Physics Summer School, attended by a delegation of JINR representatives. The event was organised by the South African Institute for Nuclear Technology and Sciences under coordination by Prof Richard Newman, iThemba LABS and Stellenbosch University.

November 1, 2017, the Interregional Computer School (MSC) together with the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) held the 1st selection round of regional competitions on the basics of construction and robotics "Technical HACATHON – Racing along the Line" at the D.I. Blokhintsev library of JINR.

In early December 2022, 20 winners of the municipal stage of the All-Russian Olympiad in Physics from the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug visited JINR.

On 30 January, 2020, students of school No. 37 and the children's technopark “Quantorium” from the city of Vladimir visited JINR. Excursions to the Museum of the JINR History of Science and Technology and the Laboratory of Nuclear Problems were organised for the guests.

The Joint Institute for Nuclear Research jointly with the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) holds the 10th scientific School for teachers of physics from the JINR Member States on 5 – 12 November 2017.

In the last days of November 2022, 12 schoolchildren from the Kamchatka Territory, winners of the Vitus Bering - 2022 Complex Regional Olympiad in natural sciences, visited the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research. During the three days spent in Dubna, the students visited the JINR laboratories, got acquainted with the ongoing scientific projects, took part in a master class on programming, and listened to a number of lectures by JINR specialists.

On Monday, 9 December 2019, the 4th stage of the International Student Practice organized by the JINR University Centre started. 25 students from the Arab Republic of Egypt came to Dubna for participation in the practice together with Prof. Walaa Mohamed Seif Hamouda from the Cairo University and Prof. Medhat Ahmed Abdelkhalek Ibrahim from the National Research Centre.

As part of the XIX World Festival of Youth and Students, which is being held in Sochi, October 15 – 22, 2017, the exhibition site of the Ministry of Education and Science “Megascience: Russia in the World – Russia for the World” is open.

In 2022, the JINR Student Programme began its work under the new name START (short for STudent Advanced Research Training). On 25 November, another Session of the Programme attended by 47 students from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Egypt, India, Russia, Serbia, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan came to its end. 57 JINR specialists supervised students’ work on the projects.

On 2 and 3 October 2019, high school students of «Gymnasium named after S.V. Kovalevskaya» from the city of Velikiye Luki (Pskov region) visited JINR. Excursions to the Museum of the History of Science and Technology of JINR, as well as to the Laboratory of Nuclear Problems and the Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions were organised.

On 25-29 October, 2022, in Arkhangelsk, at the Northern (Arctic) Federal University, on the basis of which the JINR Information Centre was opened, more than 200 events of the All-Russian NAUKA 0+ Festival took place. JINR employees participated in the Festival.

For 10 years, the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research together with the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) has been organising international scientific schools for physics teachers from the JINR Member States. During this time, more than 400 teachers from Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Armenia and Azerbaijan participated in the events.

On 11 September 2017, the third stage of the International Student Practice in JINR Fields of Research was started. Among the participants registered for that stage are 30 students from Egypt, 12 students from Belarus, 12 students from South Africa, 5 Serbian and 2 Cuban students.

On 28 October, 2022, JINR traditionally took part in the annual MIPT Career Day, where one of the basic departments of the Institute is located. About 3000 students from various faculties and years came to the event to learn about vacancies, internships and professional development prospects from representatives of leading science-intensive, engineering and IT companies.

On Monday, 9 September 2019, the third stage of the International Student Practice was launched in the JINR University Centre. Senior students and first-years post-graduates of universities of Europe, Africa, and Latin America participate in the event.

On 08 August, a visit to the laboratories of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research was organised for the participants of the International Computer School that is annually held in Dubna.

On 03-07 October 2022, a Scientific School for Teachers from Primorsky Krai was held at JINR. Ten teachers of Physics, Mathematics, Informatics, and Astronomy from Vladivostok, Nakhodka, Ussuriysk, Bolshoy Kamen, and Sovetskaya Gavan took part in the event.

 Summer is a busy season at JINR when students come here for practices and internships. One of such programmes is a Summer Student Programme(SSP). Let’s talk about it in more detail.

On 07-09 October 2022, Moscow hosted the All-Russian Science Festival Nauka 0+. Staff members of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research have taken part in this major event for the seventh time. A team of 30 young scientists, specialists, and engineers working at the Institute presented a comprehensive programme targeted at wide audience of all ages.

On 3 August 2019, the 31st Interregional Computer School named after V. Volokitin and E. Shirkova organized with the support of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research will be launched in the JINR Resort Hotel “Ratmino”.

On 12-16 September 2022, JINR hosted the second Scientific School for Students of the Children's University of the Egyptian Academy of Scientific Research and Technology. Twelve schoolchildren went through a competitive selection and arrived in Dubna to know more about the Institute.

On 6 – 14 July 2019, JINR took part in one of largest festivals of science, technology and arts “Geek Picnic” that annually gathers about 100,000 people at its two sites in St. Petersburg and Moscow.

On 25 June – 01 July 2017, JINR hosted the 8th International Scientific School for Physics Teachers. This year, 18 teachers and 10 school students from Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Bulgaria, and Azerbaijan have participated in it.

On 30 July, for the fourth time, JINR specialists took part in the Geek Picnic festival dedicated to modern technologies, science, and art. In 2022, the Museon Arts Park in Moscow became the venue for the Festival.

On 14 July 2019, the Summer School “Physics. Mathematics. IT.” was launched in Dubna. At the present School, students will have lectures on modern nuclear physics, cosmology, and radiomedecine and will be involved in project activities.

On 19 June 2017, a delegation of teachers from the HEMDA – Center for Science Education, Tel Aviv, Israel, arrived with a three-day reconnaissance visit to JINR.

On 26 July, the Physics Workshop "Element 105", part of the Summer School, came to an end. The Summer School is an interdisciplinary event that has been held since 2004 in the format of a field camp.

Senior school students from secondary schools of the Czech Republic spent four days at the beginning of July to get acquainted with the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research.

9 June, 2017, the day started with "International Morning" at the JINR Visit Center. The event has already become a good tradition during JINR UC Student Practices.

On 26 June – 02 July, 2022, the XI International Scientific School for Physics Teachers was held at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research.

On Monday, 8 July 2019, the second stage of the International Student Practice 2019 on the fields of JINR research started in the JINR University Centre. 66 students from Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Poland, Romania, and Slovakia came to Dubna to take part in the Practice.

1 June, 2017, on the International Children's Day, in the square by Meshcheryakov monument, a traditional scientific quest was held.

In the June session 2022, JINR became a partner of the School League programme dedicated to early career guidance for schoolchildren, development of research and engineering skills, and popularisation of science and technology among young people.

From 1 to 5 July 2019, JINR took part in the 11th World Conference of Science Journalists (WCSJ) in Lausanne. It is the largest event held once in two years that is one of the rare opportunities for specialists in the PR and outreach fields to discuss the latest tendencies and projects of the field.

The first stage of the International Student Practice in JINR Fields of Research for students from the Republic of South Africa started on 29 May 2017.

On 01-03 June, 2022, the JINR University Centre, in cooperation with the teachers of the Interschool Physics and Mathematics Open Classroom, Kadyshevsky Lyceum, and Dubna University, held the traditional Science Festival "Physics Days" in Dubna.

On 3 – 4 June 2019, high-school students from the John F. Kennedy School, Berlin, visited JINR.

On 10 May, a group of school students from Dolgoprudny Physical and Technical Lyceum n.a. P.L. Kapitsa visited JINR. The guests were welcomed at the Museum of the History of Science and Technology of JINR, and afterwards, in the Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions, and the Medical and Technical Complex of the Laboratory of Nuclear Problems.

On 23-24 May, 2022, students from Moscow School No. 1514 and the “Vtoraya Shkola” Lyceum got acquainted with JINR. The schoolchildren attended the interactive exhibition “JINR basic facilities”, JINR Museum and visited the laboratories of the Institute.

On 3 June 2019, the first stage of the International Student Practice for students from the RSA organized by the JINR University Centre started. 22 students from universities of the Republic of South Africa and, interestingly, not only citizens of this country but of Cameron and Nigeria as well, came to Dubna for three weeks.

School students from Dubna have participated in the VIII physical marathon "Step up into Science" in Troitsk. The ninth-grade students demonstrated such experiments as "Jacob's Ladder", "Yutkin’s Effect" and "Balloelectric Effect". Experiments had been trained in the classes of experimental physics supervised by Irina Osipenkova.

On 16 May, preliminary defense of theses written by the Master students of the JINR-based department "Nuclear-Physical Materials Science" of the Institute of Physics, Kazan (Volga region) Federal University, took place at the JINR University Centre.

From 14 to 28 July 2019, a fascinating journey to the world of science, discoveries and achievements will be opened not far from Dubna. The workshop “Element 105” will be held in the frames of the Summer School 2019 (earlier the School “Russian Journalist”) in the “Volga” recreation centre.

On 20 April 2017, within the framework of the International Training for specialists from JINR Associated Members and Partner Countries, JINR University Centre hosted a meeting, where Director of UC S.Z. Pakuliak made a presentation on the educational programmes and opportunities provided to foreign students by the Institute.

On 29 April, 2022, a two-week training for 2nd and 3rd year students of the Institute of High Technologies and Advanced Materials of the Far Eastern Federal University at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research came to its end.

On 13 – 14 April 2019, on the platform of the JINR Cultural Centre “Mir”, the scientific festival for children and adults “Days of Physics” was held for the 6th time. This year, the festival was dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the Periodic Table of Chemical Elements.

On 20 April 2017, JINR hosted a delegation from Moscow Polytechnic University. Among the delegation members were Rector A.V. Nikolaenko, Vice-rector for academic and research work Yu.M. Borovin, Director for educational and scientific projects G.Kh. Sharipzyanova, Director for corporate relations G.A. Shchelkanov, Director of the Department for academic research work A.A. Skvortsov, and Director of the Higher School of Management and Law N.M. Fedorov. The delegation was accompanied by Deputy head of Dubna Administration N.A. Smirnov.

On 25 April, 2022, students of the Physics and Mathematics class of Moscow School No. 1514 visited JINR. The school children attended the interactive exhibition "JINR Basic Facilities", DLNP, and VBLHEP.

On 30 March 2019, students of the Physics and Mathematics Open Classroom of the JINR University Centre visited the Head Office of Yandex in Moscow.

On 7 April 2017, a group of high school students from Moscow school No. 880 visited the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research. Excursions to the Baldin Laboratory of High Energy Physics and the Flerov Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions were organized for the students.

On 24 April, 2022, the Moscow Regional Physics and Mathematics Lyceum named after Academician V.G. Kadyshevsky became the venue for the final round of the V Technical Hackathon "Dubna-2022" for secondary school students. It was attended by 6 best teams from Kimry, Taldom, and Dubna selected on the basis of a preliminary round.

On 29 March 2019, the largest Russian scientific festival “PRONauka” (lit. “PROScience”) was held in Kazan. It is one of the largest social projects in the fields of science popularization that included an extensive range of educational intensive courses, lectures and discussion sites in which professors from the Kazan Federal University and JINR scientists took part.

On 31 March – 2 April 2017 the Science Festival «Physics Days 2017» was held in Dubna. Young researchers from Dubna and other Russian cities gathered here for the fourth time. The main feature of our festival is that school students are not just spectators; they solve complex problems and carry out peculiar experiments, construct models on their own.

On 22 April, 2022, UC Deputy Director Alexander Verkheev, FLNP junior researcher Maxim Podlesny, and DLNP junior researcher Andrey Maltsev took part in the event "Career Booster: scientific and applied tracks of Phystech" organised by the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.

On 25 March, 2019, a group of high-school students from Lyceum No. 1 of the Krasnoarmeysky district of Volgograd arrived at JINR. The visit programme included a tour of the Institute Part of the city, an excursion to the Laboratory of Nuclear Problems, the Laboratory of Information Technology, and the Museum of the History of Science and Technology of JINR.

On the days of school holidays, a group of school students from Stavropol came to Dubna. Excursions to Dubna University and the Museum of the History of Science and Technology were organised for the guests, two days were devoted to acquaintance with JINR.

On 21 and 22 April, 2022, high school students of the Physics and Mathematics classes of Vologda Secondary School No. 13 and students of the «House of Scientific Collaboration» Centre at the Vologda State University visited JINR. The guests visited the interactive exhibition «JINR basic facilities», Laboratory of Neutron Physics, Museum of the History of Science and Technology, and the Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions.

On 24 March, a big event for school and university students and graduates took place in the Cultural Centre “Oktyabr” in Dubna. For the third time, the Forum #ProfessionsoftheFuture gathered experts in various professions to speak about the skills and competencies that will be relevant in the near future. The event was marked by traditional participation of JINR.

FLNR and VBLHEP staff members A. Voinov and D. Dryablov gave open lessons for students and teachers of School No. 51 in Tver.

On 21 April, 2022, VBLHEP leading researcher Sergey Merts gave an online lecture "NICA: Back to the Future" for the JINR InfoCentre at the Kamchatka State University named after Vitus Bering and students of 9-11 grades of the Physics and Mathematics Lyceum "Technical" in Vladivostok. The event was held as part of the JINR UC Lectorium.

On 21 March, 2019, the final-year students of the French Lyceum “A. Dumas” (Moscow) accompanied by their teachers and science cooperation officers of the French Embassy in Moscow visited the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research.

On February 21, a group of school students from Yaroslavl visited JINR. The guests were welcomed at the Museum of the History of Science and Technology of JINR, and afterwards in the Laboratory of Nuclear Problems, and the Laboratory of High Energy Physics.

On 18 April, 2022, the first online lecture "Neutron activation analysis in environmental studies" within the framework of cooperation with the JINR InfoCentre opened on the basis of the Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov was given by the Head of the Neutron Activation Analysis and Applied Research Sector of the FLNP Inga Zinicovscaia to students of 9-11 grades. The event was held as part of the JINR UC Lectorium.

On 11-13 March, 14 students and 3 teachers from the Science Education Center “HEMDA” (Tel Aviv, Israel) visited JINR. The main goal of the visit was introduction to the main fields of scientific research conducted at the Institute and participation in a series of lab works on the basics of experimental nuclear physics developed by the JINR staff members.

JINR UC Department of Development of modern education programmes under the guidance of Yuri Panebratsev had prepared an Open videolesson «NICA – the Universe in a laboratory» by the Day of Russian Science. 

On 15 April, 2022, within the framework of the JINR UC Lectorium, an online lecture "Dark Matter" by the leading researcher of the Laboratory of Theoretical Physics Anton Baushev was organised for 8-10-grade students of the Educational Center "Sirius".

JINR staff members regularly participate in popular science events held in the city of Tver.

On 3 February 2017, 24 students of the graduating class of French Lyceum n.a. Alexandre Dumas in Moscow, accompanied by teachers and staff members of the French Embassy in Moscow visited JINR. 

On 4 and 19 April 2022, second-year students of the Faculty of Physics at Moscow State University participated in virtual visits to the JINR Laboratories. The visitors saw the DC-280 cyclotron hall in the Flerov Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions and the NICA accelerator complex of the Veksler and Baldin Laboratory of High Energy Physics

On 30 January, the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research was visited by a group of students, teachers, and graduates of Moscow School No. 179. An eventful programme was organised for the guests: excursions to the Laboratory of High Energy Physics, Laboratory of Nuclear Problems, and Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions.

On the occasion of the Day of Russian Science, the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research has prepared materials for school students on the topic: “NICA - Universe in the Lab”. In this video, Academician Grigory V. Trubnikov

On 18 April, 2022, a two-week training at JINR started for 2- and 3-year physics students of the Institute of High Technologies and Advanced Materials of the Far Eastern Federal University.

On 09-10 February, 2019, the VIII Open Robotics Tournament of the Upper-Volga Educational Cyber Network “CyberDubna-2019” was held in the JINR Cultural Centre “Mir” (Dubna).

On the Russian Studentship Day, January 25, 2017, a group of school students from Moscow school No. 825 arrived at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, where they visited the JINR Museum,

On 8 April 2022, students of the children's technopark "Kvantorium" from Balashikha visited the Laboratory of Information Technologies n.a. M.G. Meshcheryakov. LIT researcher Igor Pelevanyuk introduced the children to the directions of the Laboratory's activities.

On 10-29 January 2019, representatives of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research took part in the SAINTS(Southern African Institute of Nuclear Technology and Sciences)@tlabs Physics School held at iThemba LABS National Research Foundation (South Africa).

On 18 January 2017, a group of high school students from Zelenograd school No. 1739 visited JINR. Excursions to the Museum of History of Science and Technology of JINR, as well as to the Laboratory of High Energy Physics were organised for the visitors.

On 5-7 April 2022, the qualifying stage of the fifth Technical Hackathon "Dubna-2022" for school students was held within the walls of the Physics and Mathematics Lyceum n.a. Kadyshevsky. 17 teams from the North of the Moscow region and the Tver region took part in the robot design and programming competition. The best results were shown by school students from Kimry, Taldom, and Dubna. On April 24, they will compete for the main prize in the final of the tournament.

The application period for the JINR Summer Student Programme (SSP) opened on 16 January 2019. The application deadline is 30 March 2019.

On 19-20 December 2016, a group of school students from Michurinsk, Tambov region, visited JINR. The guests were first welcomed at the Museum of the History of Science and Technology of JINR,

On 1 April 2022, the JINR University Center specialists organised an online tour for school students of 8-10 grades of the Dubna Lyceum No. 6 n.a. Academician G.N. Flerov. Yuri Severyukhin, a researcher of the Laboratory of Radiation Biology, hosted the event and introduced the children to the work of the Radiation Physiology Sector.

On December 2, 2016 a group of school children from Dubna Lyceum No.6 visited the Flerov Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions. During the visit, Dr. Andrey Denikin, Head of the Group of Theoretical and Computational Physics of FLNR 

On March 25 and 31, 2022, second-year students of the Institute of Engineering and Physics of the Dubna State University got acquainted with JINR. The students visited the interactive exhibition "JINR Main Facilities", the Laboratory of Theoretical Physics n.a. N.N. Bogoliubov and the Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions n.a. G.N. Flerov.

At the beginning of December, five students of the Physics and Mathematics Open Classroom visited Sofia where the Bulgarian Unity of physicists organizes a traditional Olympiad on experimental physics for high-grade school students.

On December 7, 2016 a group of school students from Moscow Lyceum No. 1524 arrived at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, where they visited the JINR Museum, FLNR, and VBLHEP.
